  11. I've had an Applied Engineering High Density floppy for a while, and have 
  12. been having problems with it.  It works FINE as a dd floppy, but I cant 
  13. seem to get it to work as HD.  
  14. Every time I place a floppy in it, it seems to revert to dd mode, even if 
  15. the disk is HD.  I go to format it, and it does one of two things....
  16.     A: formats it to 880K
  17.      or B: Says it's formating, pauses for several moments on sector 0 then
  18.        says the disk is unusable.  I've gone through several boxes of HD
  19.        disks, so it SHOULDNT be the floppies.

  21. I've fooled around with the mountlist trying to get it to work, and it 
  22. changes what happens, but not enough!

  24. I'm using the drive as DF1:/DF5: on a A500 with 2.0.

  26. For anyone who has used one before, but doenst remember, I'll post what 
  27. I've been doing...

  29. I copied AETD.DEVICE and MOUNTLIST.AE to my DEVS: drawer.  They are the 
  30. HD device patch, and the mountlist for the HD drive.

  32. In my SS, I've added:
  33.     DEVS:AETD.DEVICE
  34.     MOUNT: DF5: FROM DEVS:MOUNTLIST.AE
  35.     DISKCHANGE DF1:
  36.     DISKCHANGE DF5:

  38. Mountlist.ae basically contains the following:
  39.     DF5:    DEVICE = TRACKDISK.DEVICE
  40.             UNIT=5
  41.             FLAGS=1
  42.             SURFACES=2    
  43.             BLOCKPERTRACK=19
  44.             RESERVED=2
  45.             INTERLEAVE=0
  46.             LOWCYL=0    ;    HIGHCYL=79
  47.             BUFFERS=20
  48.             BUFFMEMTYPE=3

  50. Now, I've tried contacting AE, but I cant get through to anybody...
  51. May have a wrong/old number or something...
  52. So, my question is this...
  53. Anyone have one/had one and got it working as a HD drive?
